WW2 Day in Year 6
Year 6 have had an absolutely brilliant day learning all about what life was like during the Blitz in WW2. The day was lead by Leigh from Historic Workshops, who firstly introduced the children to the air raid precautions (ARP). After that, the children learnt how to rescue the unconscious from a fire and how to transport the injured on a stretcher. The children then went outside to learn how to put out fires with stirrup pumps and how to use sandbags as a cover for incendiary devices. Leigh brought with him a number of incredibly interesting artifacts and the children were invited to take part in a quiz to identify the mystery objects.
