World Book Day

Ocean Academy students have had a fun-filled World Book Day 2021.

During the morning meeting, the children had the opportunity to show off their World Book Day fancy dress costumes and guess who each other was dressed up as.

After that, numerous activities were posted onto Google Classroom throughout the day, such as making bookmarks, carrying out book scavenger hunts, creating blogs about books, reading and listening to stories, and writing to authors.

In Year 6, the children listened to poetry and writing tips from Michael Rosen and Benjamin Zephaniah and then went onto watch the BBC Teach Live World Book Day lesson. The Year 5s made their favourite book characters out of potatoes, which made us smile! Can you guess who the characters are?

We are all excited to find out who has won the extreme reading photo competition, which will be decided on Monday.
