STEM with LEGO
The new STEM with LEGO club is proving to be a huge success at Ocean Academy and the enthusiasm of the children has been fantastic.
STEM, which stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics are all the areas of learning that the children of today will need in order to excel in the future. Learning through STEM encourages the children to be creators, thinkers, problem solvers, innovators and inventors.
So far the children have been bridge building, creating marble runs and making mosaics.
Michelle Palmer, who runs the LEGO with STEM club said, “I have been really pleased with the standard of designs from all age groups and the children are engaged and having fun along the way too! Over the next few weeks, the children are really looking forward to making a vehicle with a sail, a catapult and a boat that floats!”
